The Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act was passed
November 27th, 2006. The law prohibits any person from engaging in activity
that “interferes with the operations of animal enterprise.” The bill
that was passed is very vague and does not specify much. This law poses a major
conflict to the right of free speech and goes against many rights that are
detailed in the United States’ constitution. It is scary to imagine that a
country in the western world are making laws that limit a person’s free speech
to protest on testing on animals. It is hard to believe that Canada’s very own
next door neighbours are jailing people for standing up for what they believe
in.
